It’s origin dates back to Mongolian nomads, a time  where nomadic people travelled a lot and the conditions and time  was scarce, especially in the colder seasons.
Currently, pelmeni are very popular in Europe – Poland, Russia, Ukraine and Central Asia, China among others. Each nation has their own way of making them.

Description

Pelmeni are cooked really fast. It take approx. 7-8 minutes. They can be consumed as a soup, but they should NOT be blended. You can add any sauce : mayonnaise , ketchup , double or single cream or just butter. You can steam them (though this will take approx. 20 minutes) or fry them in oil on a frying pan. It is very convenient to have a frozen pack of pelmeni in your freezer. It’s meal for the whole family.
