The cake Napoleon was brought to Russia in the early 19th century after a victory against the French army of Napoleon Bonaparte in 1812. Originally the cake named mille-feuille which means a thousand layers in French. In France, Napoleon always have almond cream, but in Russia could be filled with whipped cream, pastry or custard cream, and even jam or condensed milk.
